Privacy Policy

Metevix (“we”, “us”) operates metevix.com and is the data controller for information collected through it. We are established in the United Kingdom.

For any privacy question or request, contact hello@metevix.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

We collect three kinds of information, and no more:

Information you give us

The website address you submit to the audit tool, and any information you include when you email us. We do not require an account to run an audit and we do not ask for a payment method to do so.

Information collected automatically

Standard analytics data: pages viewed, approximate geographic region derived from IP address, referring site, device and browser type, and interactions such as submitting the audit form. This is collected through Google Analytics 4, described in section 4.

Information from cookies and similar technologies

Identifiers stored in your browser by us and by the third parties listed in section 5. Section 6 explains how to control them.

We do not collect special category data, we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we do not sell personal information.

• To provide the audit and comparison tools you ask us to run.
• To understand which pages and guides are useful, so we can improve them.
• To diagnose errors and keep the service secure and available.
• To respond to messages you send us.
• To display advertising, where advertising is enabled, as described in section 5.

Our lawful bases under UK and EU GDPR are: consent for analytics and advertising cookies; legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention and aggregate service improvement; and performance of a contract where you have asked us to run an audit.

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used. It sets cookies in your browser and sends usage data to Google, which processes it on our behalf. We have configured it to report page views and a small number of interaction events; we do not send it your name, email address, or the contents of any message.

You can prevent Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by declining analytics cookies in our cookie banner.

Where advertising is enabled on this site, it is served by Google AdSense. The following disclosures are required by Google and are accurate for this site:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You may opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or the NAI opt-out page.

Third parties that may set cookies through this site are limited to Google (Analytics and, where enabled, AdSense). We do not embed social media trackers, advertising pixels from other networks, or session recording tools.

On your first visit we ask whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Until you accept, we instruct Google to run in a restricted mode in which no analytics or advertising identifiers are stored on your device. Strictly necessary cookies — those required to serve the site and remember your cookie choice — are always set, as permitted by law.

You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie settings link in the site footer, or by clearing site data in your browser.

We share information only with the processors needed to run the service: our hosting provider, and Google for the analytics and advertising purposes described above. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to investigate abuse of the service.

Google processes data in the United States and other countries. Those transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which Google deletes the underlying event records. Audit results are retained only as long as needed to show you the report. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email hello@metevix.com.

If you are in the UK or EU and believe we have handled your data improperly, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

This site is intended for professional use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We will update this page when our practices change, and will revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
